KURLAND | Champagner Cup, rich gilding
The exclusive champagne glasses from the KURLAND collection impress with their unique appearance. The royal product with an exclusive gold rim and the popular Kurland relief symbolises the unique character of the porcelain of the Royal Porcelain Manufactory and gives every table a royal ambience. The combination of red and gold has always been considered particularly noble, which is also reflected in the red champagne cup from the KURLAND collection. The red colour gives the hand-painted cup a special freshness. The champagne cups are part of one of the most popular collections of KPM Berlin and can be supplemented with other Kurland pieces as required. The noble champagne glasses are an example of the great success of the Kurland collection. For they skilfully combine tradition and modernity, so that the hand-painted champagne glasses with their elegant gold rim inspire all connoisseurs - whether for an aperitif or a dinner party. The Kurland collection bears witness to the rich history of the Royal Porcelain Manufactory, since in 1790 it was commissioned by Peter Biron, Duke of Kurland, to design and produce a magnificent dinner service. Influenced by its classical context, the KURLAND collection is therefore shaped by ancient styles. At the end of the 18th century, the Berlin manufactory created a service in a strictly classical form, called "Service with an antique canteen". It was not until the 19th century that the shape was renamed "KURLAND" in homage to its customer.
