KPM Berlin has been producing porcelain of the highest quality by hand in Berlin for 255 years. It takes up to 29 detailed steps to produce a single piece of porcelain, such as a white cup. Larger pieces, such as vases, are often even more complex. To make the complex production process of the white gold visible, chief designer Thomas Wenzel was inspired by original plaster casting moulds of the manufactory's classic Chinese vase. The result is an iconic light object that illuminates the history of the Berlin porcelain manufactory through contemporary lighting technology and the use of precious bright platinum. An elegant fabric shade underlines the classic character of the design centrepiece, whose sculptural, excellently crafted design gives your interior a modern twist.
